It also makes users think that there is a real Travel Diaries somewhere and they fell on a spammy site.
Additionally, numbers and symbols can make a blog name harder to communicate verbally. One will have to mention letters, then punctuations, and finally numbers.
And finally, if there is an area where numbers and punctuations will kill your blog name, it’s branding.
Numbers and punctuation can make your logo or design look messy and harder to understand quickly. Yes, your log designer might still come up with an awesome logo, but you are limiting yourself in terms of better logo ideas.
So remember, choose a blog name that is short, meaningful, memorable, and easy to communicate.
5. Make it Easy to Write and Pronounce
Choose a blog name that is easy to spell and write. Wait, isn’t it the same as keeping it short and simple? Aren’t we repeating ourselves?
No, we aren’t.
Coming up with a short domain name doesn’t mean it’s easy to write. Your blog name may be short and yet use complex or uncommon words.
Take this food domain name: Gastronomic Delights.
It’s short (19 characters), uses keywords, uses simple words, and doesn’t have numbers. In short, it’s a good blog name.
But look at this name now: Epicurean Delights.
I’m pretty sure that most of us don’t know or don’t use the word epicurean. But guess what, epucurean food is of very good quality, especially unusual or rare food (Collins Dictionary).
Here is the point now:
Epicurean Delights is short (17 characters), uses keywords, doesn’t have numbers, but uses uncommon words. It’s hard to write, spell, and remember. It’s a bad blog name.
An easy-to-write blog name is helpful for verbal communication. If you want people to recommend your blog to others, having a name that is simple to write and pronounce is a must.
One more great tip is to use words in your language. Do not choose a blog name that uses words in a foreign language simply because they sound cool.
6. Avoid Misspellings
While it may be tempting to use a unique spelling to stand out, it can lead to confusion and make it harder for people to find your blog.
Misspelled words can make your blog seem untrustworthy and undermine your credibility. Readers might question the accuracy and reliability of your content if your blog name is spelled incorrectly.

For example, the extension org. is generally used by organizations involved in social causes, education, advocacy, and community service.
Your blog is not an organization. So why use a .org extension!? Your blog will look unprofessional.
8. Avoids Trademarks and Copyrights
Before finalizing your blog name, make sure to conduct a thorough search to ensure it is not already trademarked or copyrighted.
Using a name that infringes on someone else’s intellectual property can lead to legal issues and damage your blog’s reputation.
How to Check a Domain Name Availability
After choosing a blog name, you need to check if the domain is available. The domain is the .com version of your blog.
Most of the time, our blog name is already taken, either by people who buy and resell domains or by a live website. So, you need to check if it’s available.
The best way to check domain availability is to use a domain registrar like Godaddy or Domain.com.
Go to Godaddy, enter your domain name, and click Search Domain.
Godaddy will let you know if the .com version of your domain is available.
If it’s not available, Godaddy will say it’s taken.
When I choose a blog name, but the .com domain is already taken, I come up with another blog name.

Using a personal name as a blog name is good if you are already known in your niche. But most of the time, it’s not a good choice.
