In this post, I am going to show you how to duplicate a page or post in WordPress with a simple click.

If you already have a great page or post style on your WordPress site, you might want to simply clone it instead of starting a new page from scratch.

So, how can you duplicate a page or post in WordPress?

Can I Duplicate a Page or Post in WordPress?

The answer is yes, absolutely. If you have a page or post on your WordPress site, you can duplicate it in a single click using a free plugin. Or, you can use a piece of code to do it.

However, I recommend using a plugin because it’s straightforward and saves you a ton of time.

Why Duplicate a Page or Post in WordPress?

Many reasons can make you duplicate a page or post instead of starting a new page from scratch.

The main reason is usually design or structure. Writing new content usually takes time, especially if you started your blog recently and manage your blog alone.

And duplicating an existing design saves you a lot of time.

For example, If you already have an article like ’10 best online time-tracking tools’ on your blog and you write a new article called ‘top 15 project management tools,’ you can simply clone the first post and fill the blank.

Duplicating a page or post allows you to access the headlines, texts, tables, buttons, and other elements or widgets.

Now that you know you can duplicate a page or post in WordPress, let’s see how to do it this time.

Duplicate a Page or Post in WordPress Using a Plugin

In this post, I will use four different plugins to show you how to duplicate a WordPress page.

They are amazing WordPress plugins and they work well with all the best WordPress themes.

Let’s start with the first one.

This Duplicate Post plugin is a WordPress plugin created by Yoast. It’s one of the most installed WordPress duplicate plugins.

This plugin allows users to clone posts of any type or copy them to new drafts for further editing.

But before using it, you first need to install the plugin.

After installing the plugin, follow this process:

1. From your WordPress dashboard, click Pages (if you want to duplicate a page) or Posts (if you want to duplicate a post). In this example, I will select Posts.

2. Hover over your mouse on the post you want to duplicate and click ‘clone’.

3. To edit the draft, you can simply click on ‘edit’ or you can use the editing method you’ve always been using.

Now, if you want to duplicate a post and land straight on the editing page, ignore steps 2 and 3.

1. First, hover over your mouse on the post you want to duplicate. Instead of clicking on ‘Clone’, click ‘New Draft’.
